Outdoor Education Climbing Coordinator

Coordinate Outdoor Ed trips requiring a Trip Leader with the Climbing Endorsement. Assist in the organization, risk management, and logistics of climbing trips. Develop, instruct, and staff on campus climbing clinics at the Ritt Kellogg Climbing Gym. Create an open and inclusive climbing community.

Qualifications
• Outdoor Education Trip Leader.
• Outdoor Education Climbing Instructor (preferred)
• Exhibit a passion for improving the operation of the Ritt Kellogg Climbing Gym and contributing to creating a welcome and inclusive environment for all patrons.
• Must possess a working knowledge of climbing hardware, systems, and safety.
• Reliable, accountable, self-motivated, dependable
• Enthusiasm and passion for rock climbing and enabling others to rock climb.

Essential Job Functions
Climbing Coordinator responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Coordinate climbing trips accessible to all levels.
• Assist in monitoring the safety, accessibility, and logistical details of all climbing trips:
o Propose trips in Summit and assist students in coordinating climbing trips.
o Assist with approval meetings.
o Assist trip leaders in organizing trip logistics including but not limited to equipment, lodging, and transportation.
o Assist with post trip meetings and logistics.
• Assist with ALI climbing leader trainings.
• Coordinate all clinics at the Ritt Kellogg Climbing gym.
• Act as liaison to the student community.
• Maintain weekly office hours.
• Attend blockly Outdoor Ed meetings.
• Maintain a safe and welcoming climbing community through enforcement of all policies and procedures and through high quality client care.
• Maintain a clean working environment and maintain all climbing gear in accordance with program policies and procedures.
• Instruct and assess Top Rope and Lead Belay classes and skills.
• Monitor clinic registration on SUMMIT, promote and market clinics and record attendance from each clinic.
• Attend all meetings and trainings.
• Staff special events, programs, and participate in additional committees and work groups.
