Girls Camp Outdoor Recreation Leader (Internship Credit Available!)

About Camp Little Notch
Camp Little Notch is located in Fort Ann NY, within the beautiful Adirondack Park. Little Notch was founded in 1939 as a Girl Scout camp. In 2008, the property was closed by the Girl Scouts and by 2012, the property was acquired and reopened by the Friends of Camp Little Notch (FoCLN) non-profit organization. FoCLN is now the owner of Camp Little Notch and our camp operates as an independent non-profit summer camp for girls where we continue to build upon decades of memories that have been built at camp. CLN campers participate in a variety of experiences at camp: waterfront, arts and crafts, hiking and creekwalking, field games, ropes, fishing, off-camp trips, outdoor cooking and outdoor survival, and more!

What We Look For In Applicants
Above anything else, we look for individuals who aspire to make a difference in the lives of our campers. All interested staff should believe strongly in our values of: harmony with nature, harmony with self, and harmony with each other. That means that we’re looking for someone who has the desire to join our camp family, and make meaningful, lasting relationships with the campers and their co-workers, and we’re also looking for individuals who value caring for the environment and find peace and enjoyment in nature. Other qualities we look for? Good communication skills, patience, sense of humor, flexibility, maturity, self-awareness, strong work ethic, someone who is not afraid to be silly or quirky or put themselves out there, integrity and enthusiasm.
