Consultant, Air Permitting, Midstream (Mid - Level)

ERM is seeking a motivated Air Permitting Consultant to join our team. The successful candidate will work on a variety of interesting technical projects for clients in the energy sector, with a focus on midstream oil & gas pipeline projects. This is an excellent career opportunity to work with an expert consulting team on challenging environmental management projects for large industrial and global clients.

 

Through ERM’s Air Quality practice, we pursue and win highly innovative engagements for the most interesting clients, providing the full breadth of air quality and climate change services. In North America alone, ERM has more than 300 dedicated air quality and climate change professionals assisting clients with projects as diverse as complex federal and state PSD/NSR air permitting, impact assessment modeling and analysis, ambient monitoring programs, and greenhouse gas inventory and reporting. Our Air teams collaborate to build strategies and campaigns around key business drivers for our clients, in such areas as GHG reporting, air dispersion modeling impact assessments, new MACT and NSPS standards, energy management, and climate change adaptation.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Serve as a technical resource on air quality impact assessment and permitting programs, including regulatory analyses of industrial facility operations; major and minor source air permit applications under NSR, PSD, Title V, and state-level regulations; NESHAP MACT compliance programs; FERC resource reports and NEPA impact assessments..
  • Interact with internal teams, clients, and regulators to steward impact assessments, permit application review and issuance.
  • Prepare emission inventory reports; quantify air pollutant emissions and impacts.
  • Perform EHS compliance assessments and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Perform multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
  • Support ERM Partners-in-Charge and Project Managers to effectively manage projects; manage tasks as part of large programs.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in chemical, environmental, or energy engineering, environmental science, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of relevant environmental experience, direct consulting, or professional internships.
  • Experience with air impact assessment and/or permitting on midstream pipeline projects.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication, interpersonal; and organizational skills; experience writing comprehensive technical reports.
  • Experience writing comprehensive technical reports and reviewing technical data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Power Point programs.  Microsoft Access, VBA Excel programming, and Power BI a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
