The Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our B-52 CERP SEIT team in Oklahoma City, OK.
The successful candidate will be an integral member of the B-52 Commercial Engine Replacement Program (CERP) Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) team. The Senior Systems Engineer will lead preparations for B-52 CERP installation and testing. Must be a self-starter with the ability to plan and execute a complex cross-functional aircraft integration campaign. They will be able to engage engineering and manufacturing teams and sub-tier suppliers.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide products and services that meet the highest technical and quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies and processes and embrace first-time quality as a way of life – not accepting, creating or passing any defects and speaking up
Knowledge of propulsion system and component design, analysis, performance, and key interfaces related to inlets, exhaust systems, thrust reversers, installed performance, operability, fuel storage, sensing, and delivery, fire protection, propulsion controls, pneumatics, hydraulics, ventilation, air distribution systems, thermal protection, auxiliary power units, power extraction, and structural interfaces
Ability to analyze problems (troubleshooting, fault isolation, repair, modification, or redesign) of assigned end items to support the design, development and modification of company products using knowledge of engineering disciplines (ME, EE, etc.)
Knowledge of critical path network methodology (e.g., logic, relationship/interdependency, early/late, start/complete, minimum duration)
Knowledge of responsibilities and tasks performed by various Engineering departments/disciplines (e.g., design, test, software, technology, avionics). Knowledge of the interaction between departments/disciplines and how their products/processes affect one another and impact non-engineering processes (e.g., Operations, Logistics, Business)
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
10+ years of experience in Systems Engineering
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Active Secret or higher U. S. Security clearance
Experience in large aircraft modifications
Experience in engineering project planning or project management
Experience as a customer liaison role which required communication between external customers and the internal development team
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Relocation:
