Job Description
The Syngenta Flowers team is currently seeking a Data Automation Intern to join our Research & Process Improvement team in Alva, FL. Our team implements efficiency and quality improvements within our local farm to deliver business objectives.

2024 Summer Semester
Accountabilities:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of automated data processing systems. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Build and implement automated data processing systems
- Collaborate with team to identify areas for automation and improvement
- Conduct research and analysis to identify potential automation solutions
- Develop and maintain documentation for automated processes
- Test and troubleshoot new processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Assist in the integration of automated processes with existing systems
- Provide support to team members on data automation related issues
- Support departmental data entry and inventory for production processes
- Generate ideas and conduct pilot studies to improve processes
- Document Standard Operating Procedures and develop new protocols
- Must follow all Company safety procedures and recommendations and promote environmentally sustainable solutions
Qualifications
- Requires a High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business, Agriculture, Biology, Horticulture or other relevant subjects with a GPA of 3.0+
- Must be proficient with MS Excel at an intermediate or advanced level.
- Must have a valid Driver's License
- All applicants must be eligible to work in the US
Preferred Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in communication, especially as a trainer or tutor
- Familiarity with some data processing tools such as Power BI, Access, Smartsheet, AI Builder, Power Automate, Power Apps
- Strong problem-solving skills and creative thinking
- An independent individual who is self-motivating and needs little supervision
- Previous internship and/or co-op experience related to Agriculture
- Detail Oriented-All procedures and policies must be understood and followed
- Ability to work outdoors in a hot and humid environment.
- Confidence- Not afraid to ask bold questions and be curious
- Eagerness to learn and grow in the role
